I was born in Bucharest, Romania and lived there for the first 14 years of my life. After a short stay in Paris, my parents and I moved to Montreal, Canada. That's where I finished high school (Ecole secondaire Jeanne-Mance), CEGEP (College Jean-de-Brebeuf), and my undergraduate studies (McGill University). I was a graduate student in the department of mathematics at MIT from 1999 to 2003, working on Siegel modular forms under the supervision of Johan de Jong. From 2003 to 2006, I was back in Montreal as a postdoc in the number theory group at McGill.
I am now an assistant professor of mathematics at Colby College, in Waterville, Maine.
